On 2011-08-11, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall regarding Philips EnergySaver, Marathon, Marathon Classic Compact Fluorescent Dimmable Reflector Flood Lamps, Light Bulbs due to a potential impact and laceration hazard. This product sold new beginning in March 2007 for about $11 to $24.
What is the problem?
The glue that attaches the glass outer envelope or globe to the body of the lamp can fail allowing the glass outer envelope to fall and strike persons and objects below, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.
Instance(s) of injuries, property damage have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lamps and contact Philips to receive instructions on how to receive a free replacement lamp.
