Family of Man Shot by Officers Holds Fundraiser BBQ Corpus Christi, TX KRISTV.com

FLOUR BLUFF - Family members of the man who died earlier this week after being shot by Corpus Christi officers held a barbeque fundraiser to help pay for his funeral.
Monday morning, police say Bryan Egolf walked into the Stripes convenience store on Waldron carrying a bb gun. Police say surveillance video shows him pacing the store, and eventually pointing a weapon at officers. Police say the officers on the scene shot Egolf in defense.
Egolf's brother, Jason, and close family friends helped organize the barbecue, charging six dollars a plate in hopes of raising enough money
to bury Bryan.
Egolf says he watched this surveillance video of his brother threatening the stripes store clerk and waving a gun at officers, but he says his brother was not himself that morning. In fact, he says, his brother had been acting strange in the days leading up to his death. "The past few months we had bad blood with him, just we never got along," said Jason Egolf, "We just butted heads, we're brothers, you know."
Egolf says he misses his brother dearly and is grateful to those who donated their time and resources to help bury him. He says that several local businesses, 'Texas Decks and Docks', 'Pier 99', 'Castaways', and 'On the Border' donated supplies and money to sponsor the barbecue.
The family plans to have Egolf's funeral later this week.
