Egolf's brother, Jason, and close family friends helped organize the barbecue, charging six dollars a plate in hopes of raising enough money
to bury Bryan.
Egolf says he watched this surveillance video of his brother threatening the stripes store clerk and waving a gun at officers, but he says his brother was not himself that morning. In fact, he says, his brother had been acting strange in the days leading up to his death. "The past few months we had bad blood with him, just we never got along," said Jason Egolf, "We just butted heads, we're brothers, you know."
Egolf says he misses his brother dearly and is grateful to those who donated their time and resources to help bury him. He says that several local businesses, 'Texas Decks and Docks', 'Pier 99', 'Castaways', and 'On the Border' donated supplies and money to sponsor the barbecue.
The family plans to have Egolf's funeral later this week.
