Triple Homicide Result Of Family Violence, Suspect In Custody

CORPUS CHRISTI -- A shooting that left three people dead was a domestic violence incident and was not gang related, police chief Troy Riggs said. A 21-year-old suspect is in custody and identified as Jacob Gonzalez. Police say he is speaking to them, but is not being 100% cooperative. He's being held on a capital murder charge.
Three women that were killed were identified as 18-year-old Vivian Amaya, 21-year-old Virginia Rodela and a 26-year-old Marisela Ybarra.
According to police, officers were called out to the intersection of Agnes and Crosstown Expressway Wednesday night for a hit and run accident. Once they arrived they found three women with gunshot wounds inside a car that had struck a concrete pillar. One victim died at the scene, the other two victims later died at a hospital.
Police later found Gonzalez walking in a nearby neighborhood carrying a pistol. Chief Riggs says Gonzalez was in a relationship with one of the victims and has a history of violence against women. He's now being held in the Nueces County jail on capital murder charges
